Makes me sad to have to take it down & wait another 11 months before I can celebrate again... The colors of winter seem to shine brighter in January... I can tell you that rehearsals have been shorter than average in the pre~holiday week, although exceptionally productive... It is a beautiful sunny autumn day with summer weather... Hopefully this update will be good... It was a beautiful day for the Flat Rock Farmer’s Market on Saturday - I stayed for two hours and got to talk to alot of nice people... Started performing a side peice from my EP ~ window preview ~ that I have been working through & it was fun to be able to work with it at the market... The sun was out yet it was still cool enough to have to bring a fall coat and my Handmade Michigan Mittens made by my Mother in the above second photo - thank you so much to my Mother for helping to keep a Flutists Hands Warm in my Favorite Purple Color... Just before the market I went down the street to the Flat Rock Park where I took some video and more photo’s of their beautiful river & waterfall - if you visit my          you tube channel you can watch it... The Michigan Apple Trail is now completed & all of the Apples are down at Detroit Eastern Market where the final judging will take place on October 14 and the Apples will be auctioned off... I am exceptionally honored to have been included in the Wyandotte Farmer's Market Apple... Hopefully, I will get a chance to go downtown and see the apple before it is auctioned off... Hopefully this updates okay... I did the Riverview Farmer's Market this past Friday on August 26 and had a great time... Today’s word is definitely “oppressive”... I am still running into problems in loading to the new platform so please excuse the gliches for now... Today I am working on “The Reason’s Why” in finishing the final formatting and later on some music... I am looking forward to finishing the fomatting & having it go to print.. I will be back at the Brownstown Farmer's Market on August 9... This will be more of a booksigning the second time there - although I am bringing my flute and will be playing some music - hopefully the heat will be better for that day - it will be August - please join me & help support Michigan Farmer’s & local businesses... I enlisted the assistance of my cousin Doc Fletcher and his wife and my cousin-in-law Maggie to help me with my gear and displays as I am still a bit challenged from my car accident from October... My cousin Doc Fletcher assisted me by taking some photo’s during my reading & music performance which will posted on my Facebook page... I took the above photo’s before I began my performance & my favorite photo is the first one with the little blonde boy who was fascinated with my music & flute - he was so cute and stayed through most of my set... I love the above photo from the Detroit Truck - that was selling everything Detroit from a company . Detroit GT ... So while I was standing and talking to Joe at the Detroit Truck - a photographer from the Observer took our photo - you can look for that in this Thursday’s edition of the Livonia Observer - I am going on record again as saying - I really do not like to have my picture taken...I love to take be taking the photos instead ... I performed & read for 45 minutes playing mostly peices from ~ window preview ~ and a couple of my random instrumental peices... I read from ~ pages ~ also read a few excerpts from “The Reason’s Why”... It was alot of fun... Had quite a few people sit and listen and would like to thank everyone who sat down...I look forward to having ~window preview ~ completed... There were some great artists and booths and even an Elvis impersonator who hit every note perfectly on his last song as I was walking by to leave - I am disappointed that he was gone by the time I was able to get my camera out to take a photo... Thank you so much to Diana, Maureen, and Jenny at the i aRt Festival for inviting me back for a second year - all of you did an amazing job...I had alot of fun and it was a nice event to look forward too & I am always fortunate when I am given the opportunity to perform & read... I know this is not Saturday as I said in my last Facebook Page post that I would update on Saturday... I have been working back into music and began finalizing the versions for projection in artistry ~ window preview ~  to take into the studio to complete the hard copy for my ep...I anticipate a June studio date & looking forward to sitting behind the studio mic, although my love for performance is in live events, it’s the technical chanllenge and engineering side of me that finds the studio sits in many permanent, although infinite colors... I am half completed for “The Reason’s Why”, although do not know if it will be compelted in time for my first event at The Canton Public Library...  I am putting together my five to ten minute presentation... I was talking to bookstores in Sydney last week and I am in the middle of being considered for one near Sydney - I will let you know when I know - excited to be considered... I am honored to have been invited and considered - thank you to Dr. Steven Dolgin - Head of the English Department and Editor of the MacGuffin at  Schoolcraft College for inviting me... I am always honored to be able to help a great cause...  I will be starting to work on the full version of “the reason’s why” this month with a release date for sometime in the spring/summer of 2011... ~ pages ~ will still be available at most of the stores, although some stores may only have ~ pages ~ until January, and I will let you know which ones after the new year... I have been resting and doing some work, although the last two weeks have been limited... I tried singing a few days ago, discoverd a bruised rib and it still hurts to sing, so it  be a short while before I can work back into that...  Waiting for my chin to fully heal from the laceration and sticthes before I can starting playing again... Getting a little bit better everyday... I have been writing ~ shared a short peice on my home page & will share more with you... I will let you know when I start playing... Hopefully not long... I did check in with Schuler Books & Music in Lansing on Friday and talked to Rhoda the Manager... I was taken to the hospital on a stretcher by ambulance where I spent six hours in the ER Trama being put back together and examined .. I am okay for now - still tired, resting alot & fortunate to be alive... I guess I still have more work to do here... I will keep you updated... I am working on copies for the EP this week as I work to finish all of the music to be studio ready... I am continuing to add more bookstores around the country & looking internationally... This weeks event at the  The Coffee Beanery found me exceptionally busy in between from Sunday at the Redford Farmer's Market to Thursday... Alot of rehearsal time as I was getting ready for Thursday and looking forward to putting down more tracks in finishing ~ window preview ~ ... It was a cloudy night last night after a day of on and off rain & storms that kept the crowd down but not out... A fair amount of people were on hand for the Open Mic & my Booksigning... I performed Mozart on Ice (in all three movements) and Re~verb... Thank you to everyone who came up to my table to talk - take my handouts and buy copies of ~ pages ~ ... It was great to meet all of you... Thank you so much to Greg the Owner and Dave the Host of Open Mic Night & a good musician who does a great job... I will be returning for a Saturday morning Booksigning and will be dropping in for another Open Mic Night... I did a check in with Downtown Book Center Inc in Miami this week... But the clock still says summer... Rehearsing the last few days in the tempreature change has left me sounding like Elmer Fudd :)... “It is supposed to sound like a tone coming off of the top of your head”... Today is better after a few days to adjust to the new tempreature change... I have been working on Perspective Rainbow and another vocal peice that is found on my full CD, which I will talk about at a later date... I edited & slightly re-formatted my bookmark & postcard handouts... In my events I have had some of you tell me the font is too small & hard to read , so I spent this week making a font change & they look nice - thank you to everyone for your insights & inspiration ... The edited version is now available at The Coffee Beanery on Woodward Ave. & 12 Mile Road in Berkley, MI for my booksigning & open mic performance next week & I will also be bringing them to my Sunday event... My Redford Farmer’s Market date has been changed from 5 September (Labor Day Weekend) to the 12 September as they will not be holding a market for the Labor Day Weekend... I will be there the following Sunday 12 September from 10:00am - 12:00pm & may stay until 1:00pm... This will be my 5th time at the Redford Farmer’s Market this season... More of a breeze was coming off of the Detroit River, which made the 91 degree heat a nicer place to sit... Played on & off for two hours while talking to some very nice people including the All Sisters Bakery in the above photo who do not like to have their picture taken ( gee that sounds familar - sounds like me :)... The Sister’s paid me for my music with an amazing bag of their Chocolate Chip Cookies... If you visit the Wyandotte Market, be sure to make a stop by the All Sisters Bakery Tent & buy some... I also stopped down by the Park and sat next or should I say stood next to the Detroit River, and took “at the river” photo’s and video... In the above photo’s are the vendor tents at the Wyandotte Farmer’s Market & in the second photo from left to right is Shirley Moore - Director for Wayne Metro & Creator of the this newly formed Wyandotte Farmer’s Market, a lady who works with Hospice Patent’s that braved the heat to come in full work costume & one of the ladies that also helps run the Wyandotte Farmer’s Market & I promise to get her name next week when I return for my second event... I played for over 60 minutes and talked to & met some nice Farmer’s & the people of Wyandotte... Downriver is a beautiful community as I stopped on my way out to enjoy the water along river - see my Facebook & Tumblr Pages for more photos... I played some of my music off of ~ window preview ~ & some music not on window preview... It was so hot the sweat was coming out of my flute... Next week’s weather is calling for 10 degree’s cooler... I can see the ocean just around the corner from ~ pages  ~ - it would be nice to be able to go stand on the beach & sign copies... $1.00 from every copy sold in Miami will be donated to help the people of the hurricanes... I have to correct the dates for the Wyandotte Farmer’s Market’s - it will be next Thursday 12 August from 3:00-5:00pm instead of Monday and the following Thursday 19 August from 3:00-5:00pm... This is a new Farmer’s Market just started this year in downtown Wyandotte - it should be fun, so please stop by - support local Farmer’s & pick up a signed copy of ~ pages ~... I will have both the handwritten & printed version of ~ pages ~ available... There was alot of people who came out to the market and I got to talk to most of them... I had no handouts left when I was done... I started this update on Friday night until massive storms came through the Detroit area & took down powerlines, trees and houses... Lost power - cable and internet about 11:00pm as storms came up in a matter of minutes from the first warning - neighbors who braved the storm from a window view said they saw the sky turn red then blue and watched as trees bent backwards in winds about 60-65mph before heading to a safe place... Sorry, I was out the way at the first warning from the Weather Channel - never take a chance when it’s that massive - the side show isn’t worth the risk... I was fortunate in this area - some down trees for neighbors and only lost power for 24 hours... Thank you to everyone who left me comments on my internet pages on Friday & Saturday... I broke my mic clip-holder on my mic stand Satruday night, so I am off this week to Guitar Center for my big purchase of a whole $5.00 to replace it... Not that I would use alot of it being acoustically driven, although it’s interesting to see it from the side of copper strings... I would like to say that I ascribe more to the Eddie Van Halen theory in my creation of music - that it should sit in its pure core first and level out from there...  I was sitting in a classical cover over the weekend - one version scored by Bach which I have been working on... This is an exceptionally special cafe, as I have performed there twice - Mason, The Owner is one of the nicest cafe owners in the Chicago area... The cafe is located on Fullerton Pkwy  just this exit of La Salle Drive off of the Lake Michigan Freeway... This cafe has been featured on Rachel Ray, and was used as a scene back drop for a movie... Rightfully, so - Mason serves some of the best coffee & sandwichs in the Windy City... Thank you so much for visiting... ~ 10:43am ~  22 January , 2010 I am sad to say that the Book Mark Bookstore/Cafe on Mission Street in Mount Pleasant, Michigan will be closing in two weeks - due to the economy & the competition of internet stores... This is the fourth independent bookstore that I have had ~ pages ~ in that has been affected by online sales and the economy... This was the first bookstore that took ~ pages ~ in and gave it a front row seat next to Maya Angelou on the front row of their poetry shelves... They are also the first store I was inivited to for a booksigning and invited back again and again... Kris the maager is the ncest person with a great knowledge of written material in books, magazines, and all other media from well known author’s to independent and hard to find great reads... Everyone at the Book Mark could help you with anything you were looking for or suggest something you would not normally find in the mainstream ... The cold tempreature’s & wind storm in the Detroit area on Saturday took alot of them down, and unfortunately made me unable to attend the East Warren Avenue Farmer’s Market... I did work more over the weekend on Mozart on Ice, and I am working on Perspective Rainbow - which is a vocal & instrumental peice that I wrote back in 2004... This peice  is a side of being inspired after hearing another artist’s work... I will be putting the lyrics up... It took me only 20 minutes to the write the lyrics & one hour to score out the music, alhtough it is the next to most lengthy peice aside from Mozart on Ice... I went out to Vendor Appreciation Day at the Milford Farmer’s Market on Thursday, although the cloudy-cold-damp-rainy day did not make for a good occasion and only the selling Farmer’s were there... I did buy some great cinnamon bread and rasberry preserves, but did not last long in the weather... The Milford Farmer’s Markets last day is next Thursday the 22 October...  The Farmer’s Market’s at this time of year are a day to day wait & see event... I am booked into the East Warren Avenue Farmer’s Market next Saturday 31 October from 11:00am-1:00pm, and will have to wait & see if it will be warm enough to perform - I will let you know... I will be going back to shop as I did not get a chance to buy anything when I  was there...  I was seated in an entrance way where alot of traffic passes by, and I had alot of very nice people stop to visit, and ask me about my writing/music - took handouts and sold some copies of my collection... It was a hot 97 degrees on Wednesday, as I wore a big hat a 30spf sunscreen and a big pair of sunglasses... .My fingers actually stuck to the keys when I first started to play, which did not make for a constant flow of sound... I spoke with alot of shoppers, and met some very nice farmer’s and merchant’s that travel all summer for their businesses...  I was fortunate to be sharing a tent with Wayne Metro who is the official sponsor of the Taylor Farmer’s Market... This was their kick-off event - in the photo’s above are the ribbon cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Taylor who came over and introduced himself to me and shook my hand - a nice man who was excited to see a Farmer’s Market in his city... The last picture is Janet Hoffman - one of the Farmer’s and a BeeKeeper for her business Hoffman’s Honey ~ Beeswax... I liked her Bee Headband and her Honeybear as I am a huge Honey fan and buy only locally grown honey... Her and her Husband George handmake all of their own honey, wax candles and things that they bring to every Farmer’s Market - look for them if you visit one of the markets...  Thank you again to Shirley Moore - the Director of Wayne Metro who headed the concept for the Taylor Farmer’s Market... What a nice family - they helped me move my table twice as it was a cold day despite the sun you see behind you... I was literally freezing and had a hard time getting my fingers around the notes when playing... This family has some great plants and vegtables, and they will be following me to the Taylor Farmer’s Market on 24 June... I got meet alot of great people.... She even had a nice billboard sign for me along the road, of which I am sorry I did not get a photo... I look forward to visiting there again... Brighton is a nice city - close to Kensington Metro Parks and the summer beaches... I am heading back to the Coffee Beanery on 14 June for a full event from 1:00-3:00pm... I look foward to having more music to share with you including vocal peices - I always say I have to work hardner that some people who are naturally gifted... This is a very nice cafe located off of Woodard Ave. that hosts a vast amount of art and performance events...
